A link to climbing the mainmast:

In case that's wobbly:

Lots of late-sail-era details in the frames of this GoPro video.

That's really something!

Helps to be ambidextrous.

I'm surprised and I suppose impressed that she wasn't belayed all the way up, but I could see that the lifeline would get in the way.

Even if you fell on the little safety link going over the top, you'd fall about ten feet headfirst until that carabiner caught something solid, when you'd slam face first into one of those solid foot boards.

Thanks Capn. That's a good drive-by of a lot of interesting details.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Details will catch the eye.

Like how obvious which topmast ratline was the  "favorite."

Or, how a sprung ratline bar on the t'gallant was of no real notice.

Capnmac82,

Thanks for that video link.

I sure hope all of you who are interested in the C. W. Morgan have this thread saved in your favorites:

I linked page 29 of 30 since it shows her with as many sails set as I've seen on this site. You must have the patience of Job to go through this in its entirety but it does reward one with some pictorial details of the ship I'm sure I would not have found elsewhere.
