Cutty Sark WIP

I don't know if this is from the same mold as Minicraft- have never seen the Minicraft kit.

BTW, the extreme bowing outward of the masts is mostly from using a pretty wide angle lens to shoot the pic.

Ah yes: I picked it up on the other thread. Really should read them from latest to newest instead oh "huh, wonder what that's about?"

Definitely a keeper link for future reference. My last "small scale " build was the 1/250 Pamir, and as Don pointed out, that scale and smaller can be more frustrating to rig than something in 1/96. I have the 1/350 Esmeralda on the shelf, so this will come in very handy.

I am excited to see what you do with this WIP, especially so I can compare it w/ the Aifix model of the same. I really could have used those shrouds and ratlines for that one. Can't remember for sure, but I think it came w/ that stooopid *** loom.

[this was my very first 'tall ships' model, which I may do over w/ your kit maker. The Airfix had so many Blatant issues that even a neophyte couldn't miss them, but it was good enough to hook me on sailing ships from that time forward.]

could you provide a link? I went to check it out and could only find a site that deals with airplanes exclusively, and I agree that at that scale the difference is hardly worth a quibble for the level of detail that you get. 

Looks really nice Don, the PE ratlines make it stand out for sure.

I don't find the angle too noticable, especially in this scale.

If it bothers you though, Atlantic Models makes a set of 1/350 - 1/400 that are set at the right angle / right triangle. That is, if you would want to change it at this stage of the build.

Is the Hasegawa Cutty Sark the same molds as the Minicraft one?
