A neat approach to wood deck colors

I was looking at searches for the 1/200 Aoshima Yamato that was posted earlier. On shipmodels a member named Senkan posted a photo that was taken of the deck in a museum, and a color palette derived from it.

OK, I had clicked on the link above the photo and seeing all of those yellows and greens is what threw me off. I didn't realize at the time that it was a tool.
