I have built a few:
They are a little shorter, but with a wider beam than Ticonderoga class ships:
USS Coontz and USS Monterrey:
There is a good bit of detail, there are fewer guns than ww2 ships but the main mast and foremast are more complex, lots of whip antenna, and electronics. The small white boxes on deck are for vertrep (vertical replenishment) where helicopters lower cargo nets full of supplies in to these boxes for replenishment of dry cargo. Warning circles need to be applied correctly and the landing pads have complex markings for pilot reference. The Hobby boss kit your building comes with photoetch parts IIRC. The mast can be a bit tricky and will need cyanoacrylate to attach to the plastic if your unfamiliar with photoetch.
