I have the model but even better I have the original photo taken in 1943 and 44 by the RAF while it was under construction at the docks. The Germans sank it at the dock in 45 ft of water and it just sat in the bottom along the pier with everything on the deck.
The Russians came in and pumped it out and refloated it so they could steal War Booty for the soviet union. When they got tired of it they took it out in the Middle of the Bering Sea and sank it.
In 2000 and something it was discovered by polish Oil Riggers in 184 ft of water. This author got wind of thw discovery and decided to dive down on the wreck and claim it for himself, but he is wrong. He doesn't know the whole history of the ship and the connection with Japan.
The model that Revell made doesn't go together very well and you have to do a lot of sanding just to make the deck fit right.
Germany was going to make 3 Carriers but thanks to the Bombing Raids on their plants they didn't have all material to finish. I am going to improve the model like it is supposed to look like. I'll keep you all posted JIM
