Ach ! dere is too mush noise about dese here bootes .The best one I've seen is the Big Revell one with All the resin aftermarket insides .
Ve nust be careful now , the U Bootes must shneak in und invade your verkbench , Ya ! LOL.LOL. I really do like the bigger boats and display the ones under construction in my work area . They would be ,of course the U 47 and such and don't forget the biggest mistake I've made in size , the Seaview !
I got the large Revell boat and started building the interior using the U 47 as a generic " Go-By" as we say in Wood Carving . It's a very slow process . But I did one thing as a trial and it worked ! I put trimmed down " C.D. " jewel cases on the sides and applied heat , very gently . When they were completely formed over the hull side I removed them
I did use tightly burnished broiler foil to protect the model underneath . After careful trimming I have clear inserts for the detailed areas . The real trick is to fill the half you want to copy with patching Plaster .It took one, one pound box . Crazy , but it did work . I will say this though . I am not ever going to do that again ! I was lucky once !
