1/350 U.S.S. Ticonderoga CG-47 Propeller Shafts

I'm a big fan of the U.S. Navy Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruisers. I think the lines of the ship are very attractive. Some time ago I decided to look for a 1/350 scale kit to build a replica. I hunted around & the only kit I could find is made by Mini Hobby. It was not expensive & although I was not familiar with the Mini Hobby brand, it isn't all that bad. It's a bit rough around the edges & was designed as a motorized model. I managed to acquire a White Ensign photoetch detail set which is excellent & will really help make the model pop. The kit's props were missing, but no real loss there because they're two or three blade toy props for running the model in water. I bought some nice brass scale propellers (I don't remember their manufacturer) which will help do away with some of the toy-like appearance of the running gear. Everything else in the kit is pretty good, including the superstructure & radar masts, which are quite finely molded & don't look chunky. The only other not-to-scale kit parts are the prop shafts & supports (or whatever the things placed ahead of the props & attach to the hull bottom are called). I'm posting this to find out if anyone knows of a source for scale prop shafts for this ship. The kit's shafts are really not usable because of the motorization feature; they're not realistic at all. I could scratch build a set but if I could find a nice set of scale shafts it would help me out a lot. If anybody can guide me to a source for the shafts, please post back. Thanks & Happy Holidays & happy modeling!

You could make your own using brass rod.

I would second Marcus' recommendation of brass rod for the shafts.  For the shaft supports can you possibly sand down the kit ones?  You are likely looking for a bullet shaped support that the shaft runs through with 2 small wing-shaped blades that attach that support to the hull.  If the kit ones are unusable, I don't thin it would be too tough to scratch a couple out of styrene with some quick sanding.  At 1/350, the parts are pretty small so the time investment wouldn't be too bad.

Dragon/DML/Cyber Hobby also makes the Ticonderoga in 1/350. Perhaps someone might have extra parts kicking around.
