Trumpeter 1/350 USS New York BB-34 Supposed to released in WWII and a Lmtd. Ed. WWI ??

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. I have news letter I receive from Mega Hobby and it's been advertising it is taking pre-orders for Trumpeter's new 1/350 USS New York BB-34 in WWII fitting I also did a search and found out Trumpeter is releasing a limited edition 1/350 BB-34 in WWI fitting ( I found the kit on a UK hobby shop website) is this true ??Is the WWI fitting only for Europe ?? My paternal Grandfather was a gunners mate on the New York ( he passed before I was born and was the only Navy man in the family) and I'd like to get both kits, especially if WWI is a limited edition then I'd buy that first. Any help and/or info is appreciated.

I too am curious.

I just called Free Time Hobbies and spoke to Sandy who asked someone at her store she said might know the answer. The person didn't know. Only confirmed that the upcoming release is WWII.

Their page for BB-34 is here: http://www.hobbypreorders.com/1-350-trumpeter-uss-new-york-bb34-battleship/

I'm not sure if it's a good price or not but I thought I'd post the link anyway.

I hope for your sake that Trumpeter ends up making both versions and that we, in the USA, get both as well.

Mike

Hopefully they (or Gallery) will do a 1:350 USS California 12/07/41 version. I'll snap that up in a heartbeat!

Take anything Boystown Military Models says with an extreme grain of salt.

Off to get my grain of salt.

At least this time the photo they "borrowed" and slapped labels on is the one from Wikipedia. Which I guess puts it in the public domain.

It was published on the cover of the NY Trib, under copyright, back in 1915. I have no idea how that works.

The only thing worse than believing anything these guys post, is....sending them a deposit.

Mic53 this site has a bad bad habit of announcing pre-orders and taking deposits for non-existent models. They have used old Airfix kit box art, old resin limited release kits box art and in one case art from a movie poster for "Tora Tora Tora".

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
