And that's the one good thing about your kids growing up and moving out. You get to claim the biggest empty bedroom and reuse it as a hobby room. No more dark corners, garages , or wherever I could set up .  A closet to store unbuilt kits , a big executive style desk as a work station and best of all , PLENTY OF WALL SPACE  to display finished projects. Life is good.... till one of the kids needs to move back home...lol

Also, I don't think people often realize that three dimensional objects increase in size according to the law of cubes.

I design a lot of stuff, and get the comment- make it twice as big. Then the response is "WHOA, that's HUGE". As in expensive and a lot of work to put together.

I guess if you are wealthy enough to have a house big enough to display 1:200 ships, you also are wealthy enough to buy them :-)

There's that 1/100 Victory to finish, though.

You really have to love a particular 20th century capital ship in 1/200 to have it at home unles it is an RC build.  I can hear what guests would say now. "Did you serve on this ship?"

I build 1/350 scale ships since 1/200 scale is simply far too big. I even scale down the paper ships I build from 1/200 or 1/250 to 1/350. However, I will have to consider the Nelson!
