Looks like the additions are well worth the end product!  Nice work!

Very well done.

Thank you for posting.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Mighty handsome model.

I seem to remember that Mr. Gonzales had a rather lengthy thread about it some years ago. Some of us talked him into giving clove hitches for the ratlines a try, and as I recall he became a convert to my too-often-expressed position on that subject: give your fingers a little time to conquer the learning curve, and pretty soon you'll be wondering why people make such a big deal about ratlines.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Revell 1/96 Constitution - ten years in the making

Hello all,

This model sat on my mantle for 6 years after the completion of the standing rigging gathering dust, but I was finally determined not to join the ranks of builders with incomplete sailing ship models, so two years ago I started again. I would call it 95% complete:

I started building it as a relative beginner, but during the interlude I built several models of different types, from monogram's classic 1/24 duesenberg and mercedes, to several wwII fighters. I'm still learning, and have another Revell Constitution as well as a  Bluejacket Constitution, a Heller Victory, a Cutty Sark and many more planes and cars in my stash.

Building thhis was a great experience, and I look forward to the next sailing ship model, whichever one that will be.

I'll post more pictures soon, as a sort of reverse build log.
