That is one really nice model. The wash makes the detail stand out and gives depth to the ship. I think this is the first model submarine I seen that didn't have a rust wash on it, but the this one works really well.
Thanks for your kind compliments, Marcus! "Artama" the builder told me that since the sub is all black, he didn't apply rust because it won't be seen. Instead, he applied water wash as you might have seen.
