Hidden sailing ship models
Posted by onyxman on Friday, January 30, 2015 1:38 PM

I bought a piece of furniture from a store that's going out of business and when I went to pick it up I discovered these models in the warehouse. The larger one is about 4 ft long:

The first is the HMS Prince and the second looks like a frigate...... did they say if they were for sale? From what I can see, they are beautiful!

They both look very well done.  The first looks like it's been around for quite a while.  Man, that's a lot of rigging.  I could fit one of them in my living room but there wouldn't be any room left to move around in. Wink

It is indeed HMS Prince. The other wasn't labeled but I thought it was a frigate too. The Prince had a price tag on it: $10,000!

The second one reminds me of the Model Shipways Rattlesnake.....but I'm no expert.

Could be the Rattlesnake, or a Sloop. They look very detailed and scale.  I bet someone is asking a pretty penny for them

The second picture seems to be the frigate La Renommee by Euromodel.
