I have seen a terrific 1/200 USS Saratoga (CVA-60), with the original eight 5" guns, over on the papermodelers.com website.  It is huge!  The builder stood the keel up against his living room door; Sara was taller.  I have since bought that kit on eBay but have rescaled it to 1/350.

For me 1/200 is just too big.

But, a 1/350 USS Midway, angle deck, I would buy in a heart-beat!

With regards to completing the air wing...although at 1/200 scale , they would be small but at least they would be bigger than the tiny 1/350 ones. they were my biggest headache with the Nimitz. Also , at 1/200 all the deck equipment would have better detail as well.. If anyone was to bless us with a kit like this I might just have to sell one of my kids to buy it.... Well at lease them out for a while. lol

How about a 1/350 Midway?

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Hey " G "

I wonder where something in 1/200 could be found for the Midways .   T.B.

I would buy an older model at that scale, in particular the HMS Ark Royal from 1940.

The challenge at such large scale is always the airwing- how much time you have, and patience, to build a couple of dozen F-14s at that scale.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Man, a 1/200 Bush or Ford would be gigantic.  I'd love to see a 1/350 Ford class but I don't know how well the 1/350 Nimitz sold - if Trumpeter didn't make a lot of money on that kit, they're less likely to put out a Ford.  Then again, they ARE putting out the JFK and Kitty Hawk, so maybe there's hope yet.

With the recent popularity of 1/200 scale ships. How cool would a morden carrier be? Like , let's say Regan or Bush. Talk about a conversation piece when company stops by the house. Yes , i would have to display it somewhere other than my hobby room. Just a fun topic. Lets hear your thoughts. Happy building everyone  :)
