I'm almost done with mine. I like it. It's a nice kit. For the cost of this kit I don't nit pick on every little detail. I'm loking forward to there CV-68 kit coming out.

Just a quick observation, the bow and stern of the flight deck should have a small, but definate round down, my flight deck pieces did not, and there does not seem to be any indication that there are parts on any of the sprues to replicat this feature.

How is it? good details? everything fits well?
Better than the Hornet? I hope that Saratoga and Lexington will be very good.

Hoo Haah. It's here! Just got the kit in the mail today. What a beauty. Read a write up on the modelship webnet. He included some pictures of some of the pieces this could be the kit of the year. Looking forward to seeing the Saratoga and imitz kits that Trumpeter is suppossed to be coming out later this year. If they maintain the same level of quality they put into the Essex then they will earn Model company of the year in my book. Mind you, I consider myself an Armor modeler. This is a must buy.
