Airfix 1/384 Guillen y Tato Santa Maria
Posted by Vagabond_Astronomer on Saturday, September 26, 2015 1:02 PM

Back in the mid 1980's, when I was beginning to build miniature sailing ships, a friend gave me two Airfix "Historical Ships" Series I kits, the "Revenge" and the "Santa Maria". As I note over on my blog, it was this ship kit that really got me into doing serious research on 15th and 16th century ships and their interpretations.

After building the Zvezda kit, I decided it was time to do the old Airfix kit justice.

This is the end result.

Here it is with the Zvezda kit.

The "Santa Maria", A(irfix) to Z(vezda)

Cheers,

Robert

Here is a link to my Picasa album that records the construction.
