Thanks for the info.Work continues on the build.I did get the Bronco model and thought I'd use the PRONTO's PE set ($$$$$).Well, just a little info for you.The PE set wasn't made for use with the Bronco model and the ad I saw when I bought it did not state this.Well, I contacted Prontos directly and they as much as said too bad. I've spent several hours cutting and modifying just the PE,trying to use as much as I can.Talk about some tiny parts. So BEWARE.

Having a good time with research and the build.

In this case the deck is significantly darker, a very dark gray.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Nice tip Tracy, I'll try that myself. Normally I just add some white to the base colour to fade it out a bit but I've never been totally happy with the result. Cheers!

It's generally a very day color initially - "Panzer Gray" or Dunkelgrau RAL 7021 is a popular color. However, due to sun, salt water, abuse, etc., it bleaches and fades to something closer to Gunship Gray FS 36118. In this case it depends on whether you want your model pristine or more eathered and faded.

Greetings, visit 'Sea forces online'. An excellent site with loads of internal and external pics of the San Antonio class including USS New York. Horizontal surfaces should be the same colour as any other US Navy warships as they pretty much use the same anti slip paint. The well deck floor seems to be a very dark grey. I have the Revell USS New York and USS Iwo Jima and they have the well deck as anthracite Revell no.9. Hope this helps.

USS Somerset was here last week. I wish I had photos for you, but the lines were three freakin' hours long.

Looking for the actual different colors for the horz. sections of the ship. The Bronco kit calls for everything to be the same color. Also would like the colors for the  interior well decks and bulkheads.
