I have the 1/350 Knox resin. Very nicely detail. Bought mine from FreeTime Hobbies.

Perhaps I shouldn't respond, because I haven't built one yet.  I do have several waiting to begin, and I have been over them in great detail.

It seems to me that they are very good value for the dollar.  They have crisp detail in the resin, and a ton of PE surface detail.  (I'm wondering if I can get away with skipping some of the PE detail that are very very small parts)  Some of the detail parts are very small turned brass parts, and they look to be very cleanly produced - no ridges in sight.  The instructions are provided in excruciating detail, so that there doesn't seem to be anything left to question.  For HMS Ocean, the flight deck markings are sharp glossy press-on rub on stickers, and I'm wondering how that will go.  The resin parts look well-engineered, they seem to be perfectly square where they need to be square, so I am expecting things to go together very well.  Other resin manufacturers make cool subject but require a huge amount of surface detail cleanup.   In the old days, I thought it was trivial to comment on how well a kit is packed, but I have seen too many with the bow broken off, and the Orange kits seem to be arranged to prevent that.

Aside from the depth of detail, which may be a challenge, I think the only real down-check is a lot of mold release agent.  I have heard that this is very difficult to remove, but on small parts like CH-46 helicopters, I have gotten the surface prepared with the purple Super-Clean product, formerly produced by Castrol.  Rather than jumping in with the Ocean (so to speak), I will start with the smaller, cheaper Type 22 frigate HMS Cornwall.

They look very good to me.

Has anyone built one of the Orange Models (out of China) 1/700 scale ships? If so, are they worth the price? Thanks.
