Considering that he is somewhat handicapped, I think his work is pretty well done. Yeah, the hospital ship is a little wonky, but for being a kit bash of 4 different kits..... His scratchbuilt stuff is better than my kit built material right now, and I hoe I can get better at it.

The creator tends to give something in exchange for what is taken, and the young man has done well.

Hello!

That's a nice story, and I wish Patrick success - I hope he can make his hobby a job if it is what he wants.

I looked up his models, however, and I have to say - well, I've seen a lot of models made to higher standards on the forums here! I don't mean to belittle Patrick's work - I just thought myself, the journalist writing about it just didn't have an idea, that much cooler things are doable and being done even as we speak! It's just a pity that the general public pays so little attention to the works of modellers, which often are legitimate works of art. Maybe Patrick can change that almost a little!

Good luck to Patrick, thanks for reading and have a nice day

Paweł

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Nice story about a 34 year old man who does detailes drawings and scratchbuilds ships in Corvallis.  Didn't get a direct link to the story, but should be at :dhonline in the people section for Dec. 19,2015, with a couple of pics of him and his work.
