Geez! !

I thought a 1/144 scale A-7-B Harrier fully armed out was scary ! I saw a 1/350 F-4-F loaded out for a mission and I got that feeling all over again . My first wife and my buddy Humper call it the " Mad Mosquito Syndrome " L.O.L.  L.O.L.  T.B.

1/700 AV-8B. Just not bombed up.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I looked at my 1/700 Tami CV-6 and put her back in the box for now, til I feel the need to do something to hurt myself.

BTW, in your title you are missing my last name by one letter.....LOL

At my advanced age I am having trouble with fine motor skills, and had thought about turning to larger scales (always have been a detail hound).  But the lack of display space bothered me.  And then, I thought of the old saying, "use it or lose it."  So I have decided to move to 1:700 ships, 1:72 and 1:144 aircraft, and 1:32 cars.  I am afraid that old expression may be true, and by going to larger scale I might just be playing into the hands of Father Time.

I feel your pain, Don. For me, the big problem is eyesight. (My fingers still work ok - but that could change.) You're right, though: use it or lose it. My optometrist (a fellow modeler) once told me that model building is an excellent form of exercise for the eye muscles. I still haven't gotten used to using magnifiers, but I intend to keep at it.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Hi Proff !

Speaking of Magnifiers . I wish they'd make one at least the size of this laptop screen

which is 15"diagonally .  Oh and with no distortion .  T.B.

I use reading glasses as well as a big magnifier.  The reading glasses are cheap, found at many discount stores, and available even beyond 2 diopters, which is really powerful.  Plus, my magnifier is one of those big ones that sits in the middle of a round fluorescent lamp, which has gimbals and clamps to put it right where you want it.  And for really small stuff I look through the magnifier while wearing my 1-3/4 diopter reading glasses- really magnifies!  In fact, looking through the combo, my fingers become the limiting factor- I can see better than my fingers can act!
