Ahhh....
This project you'll remember, splicing two together.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Which Lindberg kit is that, Don?
It's the Q Ship. I think it was in this forum a few years ago that someone pointed out the similarity to a line of lakers converted from US WW1 military supply ships. I found my folder of info I collected at the time, and it consists of only photographs with index numbers for captions- except for one that was labeled Jack. I vaguely remember something about a line of maybe three ships that were labeled after cards, like Jack, Qween and King.

A thread started by Rcboater, a few down the list from this one, says Revell Germany is going to release a 1/600 SS United States in 2016. I'm pretty sure it's a reboxing of the kit Revell initially released in 1955 - which means it doesn't approach today's normal standards of detail. But even if I'm right, it will be noteworthy as (unless you count the Round 2 ex-Lindberg ex-Pyro American President liner, which I personally don't) the only American ocean liner in plastic kit form. Sad, but true.
Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

I've looked too. It has some similarity to a family of three passenger ships, of one line, but the term some here is very loose. I decided the similarity was not good enough to want to build the model- especially at the price they are asking. There is a re-release of an old Lindberg kit that is closer to that family than the Ming one, and I bought that instead, though even here there are a LOT of mods that will be necessary, including sectioning out one of the decks!
At the last Omaha Nats, a firm had a prototype of a resin Christopher Columbus, a Great Lakes whaleback liner- a one-off- that they said they would be releasing, but that never seemed to happen.
Airfix recently re-released the 1/600 Mauretania and Queen Elizabeth. Both are decent kits for their vintage.

I didn't know Minicraft's Olympic was out yet? I have the 1/350 Titanic and the the 1/400 QM2. I also have in 1/350 the Bismarck and Lusitania. Trying to find one more to top off my collection for my curio cabinet.

No, Charles. Liner kits- no big surprise, seem to be associated with movies.
The Meng 1/150 Taiping Steamer is the first I've seen in a long while.

I can't be optimistic about this. To my knowledge (maybe someone can correct me) the only 1/350 liner kits on the market are the Minicraft Olympic and Titanic, and Hasegawa's Hikawa Maru. Revell has a good-died Queen Mary 2, but it's in 1/400.
As has been noted often in this Forum, liners and civilian ships in general are appallingly under-represented in the plastic kit industry.
Anyone know of any new liner kits coming out in 2016? Especially in 1/350 scale?
Charles
