So I went looking for the Thayer after my meeting today. She's been rigged and is in the outer basin.
Next week I'll go on board and get some photos.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Hi,
In my daytime job as a naval architect I had a chance to actually do a little work on that ship in preparation for her "rehabilitation", and I also had a chance to tour it while partially rebuilt in the hangar. Its interesting to see her now. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Thank You "G "
It's nice to see the old girl back in her element . T.B.
Is this the tread you are looking for Bill? Beautiful pictures and as I have said before, they make me homesick.

Frustrated, forum couldn't find the original thread.
After my meeting I went looking for the C. A. Thayer. The spar yard had been dismantled and turned back into a parking lot.
She's been put back in the water.
