Have built a couple of their canoe kits. Came out great. The wife recently added them to the Scottish Maid in the den as they fit her "Beach" theme for the room.

I have , in a place of honor in my home, Midwest's Lobster Boat .Can't remember the proper name .I will say it was a fun build and came out better than I expected ! T.B.

Those Midwest kits are excellent. I recommend to anyone wanting to try wood ship models to start with one of the Midwest craft.

Great! I've done the Midwest Flattie, 3 of the skiff (two modified to look like boats at my grandpa's), the Lobster smack and have the Peterboro canoe in the stash. I think I posted my build of the Flattie somewhere on this site, and of the skiffs too I think. Looking forward to your build. EJ

Completed - 1/525 Round Two Lindberg repop of T2A tanker done as USS MATTAPONI, USS ESSEX 1/700 Hasegawa Dec 1942, USS Yorktown 1/700 Trumpeter 1943. In The Yards - USS ESSEX 1/700 Hasegawa 1945, USS ESSEX 1/700 Dragon 1944, USS ESSEX 1/700 Trumpeter 1945, USS ESSEX 1/540 Revell (vintage) 1962, USS ESSEX 1/350 Trumpeter 1942, USS ESSEX LHD-2 as commissioned, converted from USS Wasp kit Gallery Models. Plus 35 other plastic and wood ship kits.

Very nice. Midwest kits are fun to do. I've done several of them and find they make a great change of pace between aircraft carrier builds. Are you gonna post your progress? I'd love to follow. EJ

Was in one of the LHS's today and ran across this little item. I have never fooled around with anything like it, and said "Ahhhhhh- what the hey.." Was going to build a 1to1 version years ago and never got to it. This is supposed to be a canvas covered canoe, but I'm going to do her in a natural wood finish like a cedar strip one. Is 16" long, 2 3/4 beam, 2 " height. 1"=1' or 1/12 scale. Will probably test my sanity by the time it is done. Will start by the middle to end of April.
