here is a preview of the ship now i have another coat of paint to apply and some details i want to paint also be on the look out for the finished photo thread
jtilley It's a British battleship of the King George V class. It looks like the Revell kit to me. If so, the scale is 1/570. But it could be a Lindberg kit all right - or maybe the very old Aurora one. Quite a few pieces are missing.

The Revell 1/570 King George V/Prince of Wales/Duke of York is much nicer than the Lindberg offering here...

GMorrison Did you know that before? I spent a bunch of time trying to find out for you. It's a real dog.

Many years ago, I got one of thse for my son and was horrified at what a bad kit it was. I think it is considerably bigger than 1/1200, though... more like 1/1000 or 1/900. Certainly not as small as the little ex-Eagle/Pyro kits that Lindberg is re-releasing this year.
It was in a family of small horrid kits that lindberg released together, with Arizona and Graf Spee - no particular scale and no quality. They haven't been back for years, and good riddance.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Just when I think Lindberg can't get any more inaccurate and toy-like, they prove me wrong. Last I checked, the KGVs had 10 main battery guns, a quad and twin 14-inch forward, and a quad aft. Let's not even get going on the extra-height barbettes. I have a lot of 1/1200 ships from a variety of manufacturers around the world, and I would stayed away from that one like the plague. When I was a kid, my best friend would take ship models like that, put a firecracker in it, and send it out on a pond to watch it blow up.
On the bench: 1/350 Trumpeter HMS Dreadnought; 1/350 Academy USS Reuben James FFG-57
thank you both
it is the lindberg 1/1200 prince of wales kit
Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.
