Ship Rigging - Modern and Classical
Posted by Tanker - Builder on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 1:17 PM

Hmmm;

    Do you have a  "Glue Bomb " ship you'd like to rebuild OR one you are creating from scratch ? What I like about " Glue Bombs " is you can use your imagination to up - date them to more modern looking vessels ( It's called Logical Progression of Design) Or at least what you think they might be . Now as to rigging , say the old and venerable Aurora type " Black Falcon ". Yup she's old , But !

 Picture this .Rigging changed with small skewers and large toothpicks ! The masts would be small stepped dowels .Guns ? Well how about the end of ink barrels from ball point pens ? Or the tiny coffee stirrers from plastic .

     Those stirrers also work as small scale gun barrels . Now masts for destroyers and cruisers etc. Large paper clips and small ones cut to shape and superglued together .

 You need new ships boats ? how about a small piece of balsa 1/8 "x1/8 " that you've carved to shape ? Now the list is endless .Try it , You'll like it !  T.B.
