Congratulations on your model. She looks wonderful! Your rigging is really impressive along with your photos of this ship. I hope I come out as well when it comes time to rig my model.Toast

Well, I finished her!  Took me a total of 123 hours.  I did all the running rigging except for the sheet and clew lines since I didn't add sails. Here are pictures of her out in the sunshine before I put her in her display case.

You're right. I decided against it.

I went to photo bucket and looked at your pic's , very nice indeed , but I don't like your chance's , of adding furled sail's to already attached yard's .

Hi all,

I'm a newbie to modeling. I'm well under way with my first sailing ship build: the Revell 1:96 Constitution. It's gone very smoothly so far and I've finished the basic build and all the standing rigging.  It's taken me about 85 hours so far. I've also built a display case for her once she's done.

Before I move along to the running rigging, I'm thinking about sails and I need your advice.  I have already hung the yards at the lowered positions on the masts. I was originally thinking I'd like to make furled sails. Now looking at things, I don't know if I can add furled sails to yards that are already on the ship.  Has anyone tried this?

I've love to load pictures, but I'm having trouble with that.  I'll figure it out soon, I hope.

Welcome aboard! I'm fairly new here myself and I've had trouble trying to submit photos in here. My 1st build was Revell's 1;72 scale USS Gato submarine and I've completed Trumpeter's 1:350 scale SS John Brown and Lindberg's Cap'n Kidd Pirate ship. I've always wanted to build a sailing ship, so I too, am in the process of building 1:96 scale USS Constitution. Best to you on the rigging!!! That's where things get involved.
