Hi-

Try paint markers. Tamiya makes them but you can also find them at art supply stores. I used them for white and gold scroll work on Cutty Sark and Constitution...

Hi Fisch90,

The following method had been done to all my HMS Victory's I've built several for different customers over the years.

I'll put the inst. in step of order for you. IF you have not already painted your model I use Floquil Reefer Yellow, it is a very then flat yellow then will not clog up the small space bewtwwn the "spindels" in the railings. If you have painted What brand and color did you use? If you can then it , it will help the painting.

1. Spray the entire stern gallery and quarter gallery's with 2 coats of Floquil Reefer Yellow. Allow to dry for 24 hours.

2. Spray the parts with either Testors Gloss coat or Floquil Gloss Coat and let dry 24 hours.

3. Use ONLY the following paint with triming out the railings. "Floquil Steam Power Black" It is water based and will NOT attack the Enamel base paint You might have to order it at your hobby shop or find a decent model train supply shop they will have it. Use a triple 000 bruck taking your time and painting the rails and detail. The black flows like water so as soon as you touch the brush to the railing it will flow and pull the paint onto the section you will be painting. IF you get any paint on yellow parts not water, you let dry and simply scrape you NEW #11 blde to lightly scrape off the black, The clear coat you put on the Yellow at the 2 step protects the first layer of paint and you usually do not need to touch up.

4. After you have completely painted ann parts and detail re-coat them in Floquil flat coat to protect them, and you're done.
