Question about 63-footers

Tim, can you give us a little more to go on?  The only 63-footers I can find were designed as Air Rescue Boats and "crash boats."   That's a very small vessel to do battle with a sub, unless it was a short range boat ordered to daylight patrol offshore and take potshots at periscopes.  Do you have a certain boat you are modelling? Is this a USCG vessel? a Vosper boat? Fairmile? Elco?

This type of research is enjoyable because I always learn some great stuff, but this case requires some help. :)

Jack, The boats, built by MIAMI SHIPBUILDING, were based on their 63-foot ASRB hull ... they carried eight (4 to a side) depth charges, a 20mm on a MK X mount and two twin .50s in turrets (like PTs). They were built by USSR and other allied nations in WW2. Go to www.navsource.org and look up PTC-62 and you'll see the boat I am looking to get drawings for. I know of one source for the drawings ... BUT that source is not accessible to me, unfortunately, ... hence my request for assistance. Tim

Scroll down about halfway on the left side to "Manuals and Publications" and then select 63' Operator's Manual.  I downloaded the 135 page PDF and started reading.  I don't know if I could get one running, but at least I'd know where everything is located. :)  It's for the Model 416, but from what I can gather all they did on the Model 293 was to block off the back hatchway and cover the whole thing with a flush deck which allowed for the enhanced armament.  I don't believe they changed any of the front half of the boat or the internal bulkhead arrangement.  The seams on the engine deck cover appear to be the same as shown on the other models.  Anyway, hope this helps with your plans.
