Have you checked with Iron Shipwrights?  They produce a resin conversion and detail set to upgrade the Trumpeter 1/350 Essex Class carriers to Korean War standards.  You might be able to talk them into selling that radar to you seperately.

Korean War Carrier Details - Can't find 1/350 Radar Set

A Major radar system found on most, if not all, Korean War era Essex class carriers, the SX system.  This was an extremely large dual antenna system.  It was eventually updated and became, I think, the AN/SP8, a much smaller system.

While there are now Korean War, and after, aftermarket updates for Trumpeter's 1/350 Essex class carriers, I can't find any SX radar set.

As this was a very visual part of the islands for Korean carriers, if you want to make a carrier during that period, it appears that scratch-building is your only option.

Has anyone found either a 1/350 SX radar, or any ideas on how to scratch-build one.

Thanks - Mike
