Hi ;
I won't belabor the point here . I like to do cutaways of vessels from carriers to liners and everything in between . Could I meet Dan's exacting standards ? Maybe -Maybe not !
Sure , I have been modeling , both pro as an adult , and hobby since I was a tad , That doesn't mean our styles are similar . I go so far as to put coffee cups and coffee makers on bridges and steel walkways and diesels in Patrol boats with the shock-proof overhead light globes ad infinitum .
Have I ever shown one ? NO ! These started as a challenge by one of my clients . Now , he has the cutaway sequestered in his home and the public has never seen it .
Do I care ? Not really .I just like the fact that Dan goaded me into being better than I was . Did he do that for you ? I hope so . We will miss folks like him .
That said here's a challenge . Resolve to do one . Even if it is the REVELL german Sub .Just super - detail the heck out of it .You'll get the feel and Oh My Gosh ! what did you unleash ?
You may find this is an interesting way to model , being a ship , boat , tank , or plane But here I am focused on floaty thingies . You can do it . Try a LINDBERG P.T. or Fishing boat or a tug . You'd be surprised where the notion can take you .
The reason I recommend LINDBERG . They are not as expensive if you mess up . Go On give it a try . I think you'll enjoy it .
