For the scopes, that is what the PE instructions call for.  Saw a set of the alum A/M from ebay, andfell in love with them.  Those are options though.  One of the other members here has gotten hold of me on making them.

When I built this model I took the top of that T, left some material and C/A'd it into a copper rod/tube from K&S.  This kept it solid and not bending from the tension of the aerials.  Although I used the kit scopes you could do the same for them. Use the tops and fit them into some type of copper of brass tube. When painted they will look the same .  I had to do that for the T.

Good luck.

As per a request, here are some pics of the kit parts.  The "T" is the rear antenna mast, and the scopes, with a little closer look at the heads.

Looking for someone with a small lathe to turn a set of scopes in either alum or brass for the 1/72 Gato.  I can send the kit plastic parts for the patterns.  Also the rear antenna mast.  Willing to reimburse for time and materials.  Planning to go all out on her for our state VA ofice.

Or if anybody has a set of the A/M ones that turn up on the bay once in a blue moon that they don't want.

Drop me a PM if able and interested.

Thanks,

Art
