Schleswig Holstein, August 31, 1939?

Can anyone here point me to reources showing color patterns for this old bucket on this fateful day, when it fired the very first shots of WWII? Online would be ideal, but published color sources are fine too.

I'm also looking for images, if any, of the S.H. actually firing its 28cm guns at the Westerplatte in Danzig harbor.

Thanks guys!

I believe there is.
I've seen it, in video.
It was an Australian series of 4 episodes called "Battleships" one of these episodes started whith an old german battleship firing the first shots of WW2.

Oh yeah, I remember that show. It's been on cable TV in the USA too. I wonder if that is real footage of the SH firing the first shots, or if it is stock footage claiming to be the first shots? (You know how teevee documentaries are -- showing Tigers in an episode about the invasion of Poland and all.)

But that is a great tip, thanks very much.

I've seen that video on the history channel. They showed it fireing it's main battery, plus some automatic (A.A. 20mm? or A.A. 37mm?) weapons. Also a barge alongside to pitch empty shell caseings in. Talk about a good will visit gone bad! What slimey deception. I wonder where you can get the info. on how the automatic weapons were arrainged on board? Keep us posted............ luck......
