I am finishing up the process of moving to a new town in Nebraska and just about have my model room put back together. Now I need to finish several kits I started and didn't finish before disruption hit. (I know--no one starts a kit and doesn't finish it but......) One of these is the Revell 1/350 Emden I intended to build for the 100th anniv of WW1 GB. I have the PE set for it but I would like to replace the guns. Looks like the 10.5cm barrels are OOP and I see nothing else for the secondary armament.
Any ideas?

Can't help on the barrels, but I remember the main guns were the only bad spot on the kit- the gun/turret does not fit very well into the recess in the hull. Be careful to test fit and hog out till they fit.

Are you sure of the barrel size? I believe the SMS Emden main guns were 15cm. If they are 15cm you maybe able to use the 15cm barrels for the KMS Scharnhorst.

A very good story is how the crew got home.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Don--thanks for the heads up! I will watch out for the fit issue.
As for armament several sources quote the mains as 10.5cm (105mm or 4.1")SK L/40 guns and 5.2cm (52mm or 2") SK L/55 secondary. Marcus I bet 15cm would have evened up the field with Sydney!! But then, as GM said it's a good story about the crews escapade to get home and that might not have happened. I recall a book from my late elementary or Jr high days about her and that's what sparked my interest in building this kit.
