So far I have not had a lot of luck trying to get mfgrs to do additional PE rigging stuff. Found a local dealer who deals with Atlantic models and have asked him to pick me up a set of their generic set.

Don,
Scalewarship.com offers aftermarket products for ships, including photoetch shrouds and ratlines for a few. I'm sure that you could request them to make a set for the new kit. There is also a company out of Czechoslovakia named HiSModel.com that manufactures aftermarket products for sailing ships. They might be able to help you.

Don Stauffer So if you are using threads with a choice of color, a grey or neutral color of a middle dark/light value will appear smaller. Really try to stay away from pure blacks and whites if possible.

I had never thought of it like that, but that does help explain why the rigging on my 1/700 ships has always looked a little "off" to me. I will have to check the craft store and see if they make dark gray Sharpie markers. I use stretched sprue to rig (it's free!) and have been coloring it with a black Sharpie - because that's easiest for my aging eyes.
Another thing you can do with small scale or small class ships is watch the color. Without going into the details of optical perception, a stark black or white, giving higher contrast, makes the lines look larger in diameter. cerberusjf There are 1/350 shrouds, 1/500 shrouds and 1/600 shrouds here:- http://atlanticmodels.net/photo-etched%20details/1-350%20scale.html I'm sure someone will come out with a set for Victory as there is one for the 1/400 Mary Rose by Airfix.

Thanks. I see they are out of stock, but will see about pre-ordering.
I will be starting the Revell 1:450 Victory soon. It sure would be nice if someone made PE rigging for that kit- does anyone know if any is available?
If not, is there a source for generic stuff? I picked up a sheet of generic PE small scale shrouds and ratlines at the IPMS convention a couple of years ago, and don't have enough left to do the Victory. And I don't know of a mail order source.
