Moebius Seaview 1:350 scale WIP

Darn you for being so talented.  I got this kit and was searching around for ideas about how to finish it.  Of course I ran across this thread, and nearly didn't start it because there is no way I could work up to this standard.

Glad I did, though.  It is a fun kit.  Had never seen the show until I started the model and then I watched some episodes.  The production and stories reminded me a lot of "Star Trek". 

After a fairly spectacular failure recently with a more difficult kit, I wanted to do something "simple" to get back in the groove and restore some self-confidence.  This kit was perfect for that.

Hey Greg-- Thank you for the kudos! And yeah--it was a fun WIP for me too. So much so--I think that I will have to do another one. It keeps me out of trouble.

I mentioned to Mark about the Icarus. I've been told that it is in route to me. The tracker shows delivery early next week. I am slowly prepping things for this next project. It ought to be another fun one.

A real accomplishement indeed and your stick-to-it-iv-ness deserves a gold star. You had some tough times and stuck it out.

The Seaview looks awesome and man oh man do I like those lights. I think we all loved that big picture window in the front, your model really shows it off brilliantly.

My only point of confusion is how there were so few folks following this thread. It was a very fun WIP and I'd also like to thank all the folks involved.....y'all entertained me too and I truly enjoyed it.

Hey Mark... Thanks for all the kind words sir. I appreciate all that.

Yes, I am glad she is done. The project was running long, and the summer months are not my best time to work on models. I made a mad push to get it done. In fact, I was off of work last week and I worked on this a lot during that time. It is amazing what you can get done when you are not committed to a job. Like you said, now is a good time to reflect on what was accomplished.

Mark--keep thinking about that mid-air refueling dio. I am sure there is a way to pull it off. And, I am looking forward to you doing it! That sounds like an awesome project...

I am not sure what is next. I had ordered an Icarus Spaceship and I have grand plans for that one. Lots of custom frills, and it will probably be a dio again. Like I said-- shooting for the moon! Shoot me now. The issue at hand is that I had to return the model because it had serious flaws. I could have fixed them, but the company advised me that they are redoing the mold. They said if I could wait, they'd RMA me, and send another one when the mold was done. I was not in a rush, so why not. That was over two months ago. I contacted them last week and they told me the new mold is done.  So... I might see the replacement soon. If they make me wait too long, I may have to build something else. We shall see.

Excellent work sir.  Congratulations.  It really is amazing what you did. 

I am sure you are happy to be done with this one, but I would take a minute to reflect on how much you actually got done and what "muscles got used", so to speak.

This build has been inspirational to me.  It has made be believe that I can actually accomplish the mid-air refuelling diorama that is in my brain.  

My models have been on hold of late because I have been working on two new bikes....(for me this time), but I have been watching this build and cheering you from afar.

Pray tell what's next in line for Master Bakster?

Well, you can't just leave us so what's next? Think of all the social repercussions. You wouldn't be on my first check list on the computor with morning coffee. You could lose your creativity and be shunned as a leper. On the other hand this could be the first of many unique creations, causing fame and fortune and demonstrate the cleverness of humans leading to National Geographic shows or even Nova. Great start! Remember us when you are famous!

Buddy...I appreciate your encouragement to do another WIP! Lol. I am not sure what I'll do next, and if it will be a WIP. As much as I like doing a WIP, they are a bit of work too. Having said that, I had been leaning to a kit bash. You inspired me with your jet powered Corvette! Or maybe I should do another "easy" build. Rrright... I never make it easy. I am always shooting for the moon! Sigh.

We'll see where inspiration takes me. Thanks again for the fun and support!
