So in June 2016 I bought the airfix 1/180 HMS Victory after debate on airfix or revell. I opened my kit and received two same sides of the hull (both port), after calling airfix about this they assured me they would send me out a replacement part of the correct side. So I decided to continue the build, painting and glueing as I waited for my replacement part. I finally received it and painted both sides of the hull and here comes the mistake... I didn't dry fit the hull halves! So my port side (the original) is slightly bigger than the starboard, just enough to mess up the alignment. I contacted airfix about this and since it was outside of the 30 day window for returns they couldn't do anything. So she sat on my desk, in the back corner, collecting dust until this week after 6 months of not touching I decided to go ahead and finish. Lesson I learned, dry fit the pieces so I save myself the headache!
