Don, I know what you mean, I have the 1/350 USS Alaska on order. Which shoots my summer budget to hpeck and back.

GM, I have the Olympia too and I need to finish my Dreadnought as well.

I picked mine up on Friday and after perusing it, found it to be comparable to Trumpeter's 1/350 HMS Dreadnought. It actually has the armor bands on the hull and not as pronounced as the Merit 1/350 USS Yorktown/Enterprise.

Hobby Boss has also recently released the French Pre-Dreadnought Danton and Voltaire which are four stackers. I am going to pick up one of those too.

The other cool things I found looking through the instructions is that there are enough PE rails for the whole ship and it has plastic injected anti-torpedo nets for both sides rolled up.

Sounds great!  I have ordered a lot of stuff currently from my local hobby dealer that I have not paid for yet, so have to hold off a few months before I order the Nelson, but from your description, and my experiences of HB kits of other genre, I will order it from him as soon as my checking account recovers :-)

That's good info. It looks to be an attractive subject, and from what I can tell the sister Agamemnon could be built as well.

i remind myself that I still have Mikasa, Olympia and Varyag in the stash (yes I know cruisers) so I'm going to pass.

Hi,

Thanks for the heads up.  A few months ago I tracked down a waterline Sealsmodel 1/700 scale IJN Hatsuse" on eBay.  It was a little pricey, but very finely molded.  Some parts look so delicate that I'm afraid to try and do anything with it until I get a little more practice on some less expensive kits first.
