Goldhammer -  That is a great idea.  Do you find it cheaper to go that route than to purchase a completed case?

Mark - Make up the base whatever the size you need/want.  I route an 1/8 or 1/4 inch wide rabbet in the top edge all the way around. It is around 3/8 deep top to bottom (half of my 3/4" base).  Then take it down to the local glass shop and have them make the sides and top cover to fit out of plexi.  Just because glass is breakable.

They do a lot nicer job of bonding it all together than I could ever do, and they have the materials at hand.

I'm working on the Tamniya 1:350 Enterprise kit, and I live in a very dusty, cat hair laden house.

Nothing commercial that big. There are a few videos on YouTube on building them.

Has anyone attempted to scratch-build a large 5 sided display case?
