Appreciate the help. My cousin, navy vet gave me the model as a gift after I...an Air Force vet gave him an aircraft model. Definitely will enjoy the challenge. Smile

For me;

 This was easy for me  . I was stationed on a Gearing , Both in WW 2 trim and After FRAM ! I found it to be a fairly accurate version of a generic Gearing . Just be patient .She's a fine model ! T.B.

if you want the main gun mounts to rotate then install the gun mounts' bases 1st before gluing the the deck to the hull.

Take your time.  Also build up and then out.  Meaning plan ahead and just don't follow the installation steps in order and don't be adding parts that you will have to reach over or through when adding other parts.  Add the railings to the superstructure parts as you assemble them.  They are much easier to add while sitting on the bench than on the ship. I do the railings for the deck and rigging last.  I also use epoxy glue if the main and secondary mast is made up of metal and plastic.  It is much stronger than CA glue when putting the mast and yardarms under tension when doing the rigging.

If you want the paint to look faded as if the ship as been to sea for a while dilute the paint with about 18% white paint.

Enjoy
