He was born in 1904 so remembered a lot of history. Even spent one summer as a crew member on a sail powered ship. An interesting man to talk to.

Visited fortress Louisberg in cape bretenns yesterday. In one building they said there was an art gallery and ship models. First model I saw was junk, no sheer, no tumblehome a ssimple rigging. Disappointed. But in next room was a nice galley and a great French 74, about 5 feet long with very accurate rigging . definitely worth visiting maybe pictures she I get home.
