I just got a communication from Radek that brought me to his web site and his method of installation: http://www.radekshipmodels.cz/en/workflow/photo-etched-ornaments

In reading it I think the use of contact paper (he used the term "foil" that was included in the kit) is a great idea!

Elsewhere on his site is the method for the flags.

What is the best way to install the photo-etch parts and how are the flags to be attached?

 

 

The best way to attach any Photoetch is to either use CA glue (superglue) or Gator glue which is an acrylic glue that is workable and easier to clean up with water.

For the flags, they are made out of a synthetic fabric and can be glued with Gator Glue or plain old white glue. Wrap them around a piece of rigging line and glue the two halves together.

You can also find a wooden deck and rigging blocks on his site. Scaledecks also make a beautiful wooden deck for the Cutty Sark which I have.

I would also recommend that if you seriously want to go full tilt boogie on your model then purchase the plans for the Cuty Sark from the Royal Greenwich Museum: //shop.rmg.co.uk/cutty-sark/shop-by-theme/prints-postcards/product/cutty-sark-rigging-plan.html/ 

They also have the sail plans and arrangements for sale. The late, great Proffesor Tilley gave me the same advice on the plans and I followed it and I cannot say enough about how good that advice was.
