You may be able to find wire for jewelery at that size with that twist.  I just purchase .05mm coated wire with a right hand twist from Amazon colored to look like leather.  With a little dry brushing is looks like real steel cable used on a crane.

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a vendor who sells cable laid (right to left wound) model rope? I need ~0.07 diameter thread for anchor cable on my 1/96 Revell Constitution, and would rather not resort to getting a ropewalk.
