Does anybody have any good reference material on how the superstructure of a Krivak III differs from a I/II?  From photoes, we can see that the III bridge is about a deck and a half higher than a I/II, but I can't pin down the specifics.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rick

Norman Polmar's USNI Guide to the Soviet Navy.   My copy is the 5th edition (1991).

Comparative line drawings of the Krivaks in the Frigate and KGB Border Protection sections.

K3 deltas bow to stern:

Delete SS-N-14 launcher,  replace w/ 100 mm DP gun

Add retractable SA-N-4 launcher plus structure

Raise structure aft of bridge by half a level

Delete Eye Bowl radars, replace with Kite Scretch GFCS radar

Aft deck house radically changed, including removal of Kite Screech radars, adding Drum Tilt GFCS and Pop Group radars.  Add hangar structure aft of stack, add flight deck and support structure/deckhouse.   Remove two 100 mm DP gun mounts.

These changes will get you close enough to a K3 model from a K1/2 starting point

Back in the day one of my tasks at work was doing the specifications for some visual ship models being incorporated into the pericope visual scene system in a USN submarine trainer system.   I had access to some detailed intelligence photos of Soviet ships.  Unfortunately these are not an open source document
