It seems the instructions just didn't bother to color in the plan view except for a little of the Corticene.

Here's Furious fly-off deck.

I have some photos of Furious in 1917. Under the assumption that there would be some similarity in construction, the deck in the photos does not have exposed wood. The finish looks like a seamless non-skid, not bare plates with seams. The color appears to me to be dark.

That sounds like a fascinating subject. Love to see WIP pictures.

Hi,

Sorry, I took a look through what I had and couldn't find any good answer for you. Sad

To me white would seem an odd choice and I would probably either expect some form of gray, if the decks were steel, or tan/bron/gray if they were wood.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.  I'll check one more book of mine when I get home.

I'm ready to start my AJM 1/700 HMS Vindictive Cruiser/Carrier and want to model it as it appeared during intervention in Baltic in 1919 and wondered about color of flight decks surfaces. Instructions show white but a few other sources show dark gray. Has anyone started built this kit yet?
