At last? Special Navy, submarine Vesikko 1/72
Posted by Trabi on Saturday, March 3, 2018 2:11 PM

Hi!

Got this leaflet from my local suplier:

Special Navy promissed this kit right after they released their IIA submarine 2008. I hope this time they keep their promisses.

What makes this kit so special? Well, Vesikko (launch name CV 707) is prototype for IIA submarines which were test benches for whole Wolfpack fleet. Lots of main solutions in type VII was already introduced in Vesikko. Fe. bubbleless torpedo launch.

And best part is, that Vesikko still exists! It´s a museum boat at Helsinki Finland.

Unfortunately, in those animated pictures they are representing Vesikko in museum condition. Lacking deck armament (Madsen), 12,7mm machine gun and periscope is covered with air duct against vandalism. I hope they make those right to the model itself.
