Carthaginian war galley in action.

Curro Agudo Mangos posted his scratch builded Punic War diaroma action on Facebook. To my knowledge, there is no kit that has this type of Carthaginian bireme war galley that has two banks of oars on each side of the vessel.

The Punic Wars was three wars between Rome and Cathage from 264 BC to 146 BC for the control of the Mediterranean Sea. Rome finally defeated Cathage by destroying this city-state in North Africa near present day Tunisia.

Very nice.  I keep wanting to build something from this era or a few centuries earlier, but just have never gotten around to it.  This may be the inspiration I need!

A beauty of a model...must have been a long build. Ok ....everyone admit it ..when you saw this you all thought of that old "OK Guys! After Lunch the Capt'n wants to go waterskiing!" joke.

You have never been lost until you've been lost at Mach 3!

To Quote .

There are those who keep the beat for rowers , in a book I read .They were called " Drum Deldars " Where's this one ? I would take some of the Pouf out of the sail too .The rowers wouldn't be needed that bad , if the wind was that good .Those things skate across the water at the slightest  hint of a fair wind .

Tanker-builder, rowing with a ballon sails is called "artistic licence", or enhancing, or overblowing the obvious. Painters often use this technique.
