PhotoBucket Is Back !!
Posted by Seafarer on Monday, May 21, 2018 1:16 PM

I saw this info posted on Hyperscale yesterday, and after checking it out, all the photo links on Photobucket from FSM's archive are back !

Thought folks here might want to know......

Went back to one of my older threads, No pictures there, just placeholders. Anyone know how to get rid of those placeholders?

Did you delete your images from photobucket?

If not, I'd wait to see if they get restored.

I didn't bother to delete my images from PB, but I copied them all.

Yay! Here's one of my favorite threads that had lost its pictures - looks like Photobucket IS back!

Cheers and enjoy the pix of an amazing water diorama.

I never deleted anything, but apparently my account was closed as I cannot log in to PB. I have all the photos on a portable hard drive though, just takes longer to post now as I have to reload them on another site. Most forums I had photos on now just show a placeholder instead of the picture. Wish I could get rid of the placeholder somehow so the photo could be replaced using a new hosting site. I've been using IMJUR or Postimage.

I just signed up on PB using my old user name and password, so I now have an account with the same info as before. However, there are no pics in the account, so I would virtually have to put a few thousand pics back on PB. Might just as well keep going with IMJUR. Is it just me, or has posting pics slowed down on the forums. There are a few guys posting regularly, but I think a lot have just stopped posting at all. Maybe I'm wrong, but???? EJ

I had a paid account at PB, which expired at the end of 2017.  I can't log in, either, unless I choose to subscribe again, but since the only account now that offers 3rd-party hosting of images, is their most expensive account, I'm not going to do it.  I already moved to a different host in January.

My linked images never disappeared; I think that happened only to people who had the free accounts.

I did delete all my photos and pulled and eliminated all traces of my relationship with PB. As far as I am concernced, good riddance PB.  I don't want anything to do with them because of that chicken coup act the they pulled.

Can you highhlight the placeholder and delete it in the "edit" mode?

Well, my pictures are back on the threads I've checked and I was a freeloader on PB. However; moving forward, I'm not going to upload on their greed loving site.

Going to "edit" mode, the placeholder disappears, but the ip address of the pic is there and can be deleted from the post.
