Higgins - A name to remember
Posted by Tanker - Builder on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 8:10 AM

I just have to do this .

Why is it that any time a P.T. boat is mentioned they show an ELCO ? The earliest P.T. boats were definitely Higgins boats .

Now the icing on the cake . How many of you remember Revell's old P.T.212 ? The original boat was a Higgins . In fact , I think it was the only Higgins P.T. model I've ever seen .

Higgins is known for their LCVP and LCP. They did do the P.T.s as well . Although smaller than an ELCO they were tough little boats and some even saw action in the Atlantic ! I believe the British got some on loan , to give them time to let Vosper get more of their boats in the mix .
