I got a Revell Kearsarge kit from an antiques mall years ago. I my research on the ship I found that the Revell kit represents Kearsarge some years after the Civil War. Her gunwales were raised to make improve her seagoing abilities as well as some changes to the mast structure.
I've seen on-line articles too about making the Alabama into the Kearsarge. The key is to do your research.
You'll have no problem finding articles about this online. Also a lot of misinformation. I've seen opinions where the Alabama hull is considered a good starting place for a Kearsarge.

Is it possible to turn the Revell CSS Alabama into the USS Kearsarge?
Is it too overwhelming in the modifications?
Are there enough parts in the Alabama kit to become the Kearsarge?
