Don Stauffer I believe I have the kit in my stash. I will check and see what language the instructions are. Probably take till Saturday till I get to it.

I am sorry to say, I cannot find the kit. I was sure it was somewhere in my stash. I will keep looking. In the meantime there are a couple of sites that have a lot of instruction sheets for plastic models. I don't have the URLs, but maybe a google search would find them.

Wonder why I have two additional sprues :) I think I'll need to look into it I guess and glad you've got a surplus of cannons. Always nice to have extra cannons :)
And that's one hell of a pricetag :0 Probably cheaper buying a plane ticket and going to the library myself :)
Yes, I knew she was supposed to be a 74. I guess my old brain just got a bit flatulent. I even have lots of photocopied pages from Boudriot's masterpiece on the French 74's. I drove up to Portland from where I live in Salem just to get some pages copied. The book itself is just too pricey for me. See here:

BTW, I just recounted the cannon in the red "Grappes" (clusters/sprues) and ended up with 80. Always nice to have extras .

I believe she is a 74 gun frigate though from what I've read in my instructions I do have surplus cannons though I'll need to check that as even the French is confusing for the French :)
And thanks for the link. Luckily riggings abit down the line but at least I can weigh my options.
Well I guess that explains the difference in sprues - although I counted 68 cannon. How many cannon are supposed to be aboard her?
Anyway, if pounds or dollars are not a consideration, I'd go with these folks for rigging:

Not counting the same as you have done and just counting sprues I have 13 :) It's a newer box than yours so think it comes with more red sprues e.g. cannons. So I think my ship can have a full complement whilst yours only has a limited number. I have 5 red sprues if you want too check yours. That's the one thing that put me off some nice Heller ships in the past, the fact you had to have half the gun ports shut.
Thanks for checking though.
And quick question what thread should I use. I know I'll need different types for the various types of rigging so what's best?
Not counting the hull halves, the three sail sheets, the stand or the loom, I do believe there are eleven sprues. It's possible there are more if what I counted as one sprue is actually two but my best guess is eleven.
Mike- since his bags have been opened, if able, might try to count the number of sprues without opening yours up. Would let him know if any missing. He can check each of his to see if any pieces missing off the ones he has.
Thanks alot for the pictures. Glad too say I have the full kit. Hooray :) Seems like I really got a great deal afterall.
No need to open the bags, best keep the plastic safe until your ready to build. And no worries about the sock :)
Thanks again for your assistance in this matter. Put my mind at ease :)
BKR,
I'd rather not open the cellophane bags but if you need to see all the parts I'll do it for you. I do hope these pictures give you some idea.
My apologies for the sock in the pictures .
Hi Don Stauffer, that sounds great. When you get round to your kit and checking the instructions it would be a massive help if possible, if you could tell me what you have included in the box or if you could take pictures just so I can confirm everything is there in my kit. Would save me some trouble if you could :)
Thanks for your suggestions GMorrison. The three sheets seem to contain enough sails but as you said using them is a last resort option. Porbably proper cloth sails or have them tied up as if in a harbour. THough rigging and sails will be abit of so plenty of time to decide.
A couple of thoughts.
I see its on sale on Amazon Prime for $ 100. You could buy it, check out what you need to know, and return it.
The sail count sounds inadequate, which suggests an incomplete kit.
I personally would not use those anyhow, but you might want to.
Sadly, it doesn't show up on Scalemates as ever having been boxed by Imai. Imai did rebox the Victory for example, and the instructions, while in Japanese, are orders of magnitude better than those from Heller.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Hi, I recently got a fantastic deal on a Heller 1/150 Le Glorieux ship plus aftermarket wooden decks thrown in. Really great deal though the bags have been opened so I'm wondering what exactly should be in the box. If anyone has had this kit or knows of a site with screenshots of the kits contents that would be amazing as I want too check that there are no missing parts.
I have two bags full of sprues, two halfs of the hull, three vac form sails and instructions. Should it come with any other sprues, decals etc
And are there any build throughs of the kit or clearer instructions as Hellers are interesting to say the least even with my french :)
Look forward to your responses :)
