Thanks for the reply, What I have been finding out is in the 30s the deck was a Mohagany brown color, so that means painting. In the beginning of the movie Dive Bomber there are yellow wings landing on the Enterprise and the deck was deffinetly brown, so I would think Saratogas deck at the time would also be brown. The clip is on youtube from the movie.

I dont know, but I doubt it. The Tamiya Sara is the 1945 version with the twin 5" mounts fore and aft of the island.

Yours is the pre-war with the twin 8" mounts and there are other differences.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Hello;

Anyone know if these two decks are similar, I ordered the Trumperter Saratoga and cant find a wood deck for it. Shipyard makes one for the Tamiya saratoga and was wondering if it would fit the Trumperter saratoga.
